Garden Tiller - What Type Do You Need

By Mike D Tucker Well its that time of year again to start busting up your garden soil and start your planting. How you do that is up to you. If you need the exercise or have a very small garden you could always do it by hand. To save your back and knees you could go with a stand up manual garden till like the famous garden weasel. It is cheap and easy to use. For medium or large gardens you are going to need a garden tiller with a little more power than your arms. So what type of tiller do you buy? If you have a smaller or confined garden you will want to go with something maneuverable like an electric mini tiller or cultivator. Or maybe a small 2hp gas model. Most of them are lightweight and very easy to handle. Cost on them is reasonable too for the amount of work they will save you. One of the biggest pluses for a small garden till is that it uses less storage space. If you buy one with folding handles you can save even more room. A word of warning though, I would not recommend using a small garden tiller to start a new garden where the soil has never been broken up before. You will need something a little more heavy duty to cultivate your soil for the first time. Renting a large heavy-duty garden tiller the first year to bust up your soil and then get a small tiller for maintenance and cultivating the following year. Front tine vs. rear tine The best purpose for a front tine tiller is maintaining soil that has been cultivated before. Start out the first time with a rear tine tiller. Rear tine tillers are easy to handle and maneuver. They will pretty much turn on a dime when needed and require much less effort from the operator. The majority of rear tine tillers can handle any garden job that you require from them. What Brand To Buy There are many different brand names in the garden tiller business. Some of the better known garden tiller brands are, Troy Bilt Garden tillers, Mantis Tillers, Honda Tillers, Husqvarna Garden Tillers, Craftsman Tillers, and MTD Tillers. Prices and models vary a lot so the best thing you can do is shop around and compare after you have decided on what type you need for your garden. If you are a vegetable garden grower I recently read a book called vegetable garden secrets that is going to change the way I garden. I highly recommend it. You can find it on our site. Successful Job Search: Knocking Out The Competition

By Virginia Bola, PsyD Most of the time, competition stimulates us, gets our juices flowing, generates creativity, a sense of excitement, and motivates us to perform at our best. Looking for work is another matter! When it comes to financial survival, to regaining independence and self-worth, competition can be crippling. We apply for a job in the fervent hope that hundreds of others are not also applying. Finding work is too serious an issue to be considered a game or a sport. We need to find that position that will make everything all right, make us believe in ourselves again, and help rebuild the self-esteem and self-confidence shattered by unemployment. Unless we are very lucky, there will be competition for every position we identify. Our remaining option is to set ourselves apart from other hungry applicants. How? Take a global view and emerge from the dank and slimy job search swamp by utilizing a number of techniques I call knock-out P-U-N-C-H-E-S, guaranteed to leave your competitors crying “Uncle” and throwing in the towel. 1. P is for Persistence. We all hate failure. We don’t like being rejected, judged, or found inadequate in any way. Trudging on, day after disappointing day, requires all of our reserves of energy, reserves that are rapidly becoming depleted. From having to constantly present ourselves as enthusiastic and creative, we become blue, bummed, and bone-deep exhausted. We wonder how much longer we can keep up the faade of self-confidence that we secretly admit has long ago evaporated. How can we present ourselves as competent, successful, and eager when in our heart-of-hearts we have accepted that we are a despised failure in a success-oriented culture? The secret is to keep plugging away. No matter the number of disappointments we have experienced; no matter the number of rejections we have encountered; no matter the times when our age, our experience, our skills have been found wanting - we have to KEEP GOING. We never know if “this time” is “the one.” We have to continue to act, no matter how difficult or painful it may be, as if this were the one position we have been seeking. Ask any newly hired worker and they will tell you that just as they were about to give up, along came the gold at the end of the rainbow. Not giving up, no matter how discouraged you internally feel, is the secret weapon in finding a position, no matter how long it takes for the right opportunity to appear. 2. U means Unswerving Focus. There is so much going on in your life: family stresses, financial pressures, multiple demands on your time and your energy. The search for work, although prioritized for a long time, has moved down the “to do” list somewhere below Timmy’s first tee-ball game and the in-laws’ anniversary party. If you have mastered the art of multi-tasking (juggling activities around as changing deadlines demand), you will have realized that finding work is your overwhelming priority and that nothing can, or will, interrupt your focus on that, no matter what else may be happening in your life. Ignoring peripherals and always keeping your eye on the immediate objective, obtaining a job, ensures that opportunities are not missed and that every possible avenue is explored. While there may be time for other things to maintain your balance, the time allotted for job search must remain intact and sacred, no interruptions allowed. 3. N stands for Networking. The often-touted “hidden job market” is merely a term to cover the multiple job openings that always exist but are never publicized. Literally, millions of positions are filled without classified advertising, internet postings, or agency listings. Such positions are identified, and obtained, through personal referral: a job seeker knows someone who knows someone else who has a need for the job seeker’s skills and abilities. Networking is merely a fancy term for using friends and acquaintances to help locate employment. The process requires that when you are in need of work, you make sure that everyone you know is aware of your situation and that you ask them for information and assistance. Beyond exploring job leads with your contacts, it requires the harvesting of names and additional contacts through personal referrals from your first line friends. Like the ripples of a pebble cast into a lake, your access to unadvertised positions multiples exponentially as your network of contacts, and their contacts, expand your chances of being in the right place at the right time when that long-sought employer connection occurs. Many workers draw back from the process after a few attempts, fearful of exploiting family and friends. At its best, this is a mutually beneficial relationship as their self-esteem is increased by having the opportunity to help you. At some future juncture, you may be able to return the favor. 4. C for Communication. A job seeker doesn’t necessarily have to possess the spiel of a professional salesman nor the creative presentation of a marketing specialist but clear, unambiguous communication is critical throughout the hunt for work. Your resume, cover letter, and completed application need to be clear in at least three areas. a) What position are you applying for? Even if you have become so desperate that you’ll take just about anything, an employer is looking for an applicant who specifically wants the job he has available. If your resume is purposefully hazy (because you are looking for several different types of work), make sure that your cover letter is focused on the specific position for which you are applying. b) What have you done in the past that is relevant to the position you are currently seeking? Again, if your resume shows a smattering of skills in seemingly unrelated areas, tie it all together in your cover letter so that it makes sense in the employer’s mind. c) What can you do, better than anyone else, to make the employer believe that he has to hire YOU? If you have operational skills that the company needs, highlight them and what they could do to help the employer’s business. If your skills are limited or you’re applying for unskilled or semi-skilled work, stress personal qualities that stand out: reliability, courtesy, an ability to work with a variety of coworkers and supervisors, flexibility, the desire to work hard to prove yourself, and a willingness to learn as much as possible to show your value. Networking contacts are helpful only if you can quickly and succinctly explain your predicament, what kind of work you are seeking, and ask directly for help whether for possible positions, information, advice, or merely additional names to contact. The need for clarity continues in the interview. Answer questions clearly and directly. Express your hopes and positive outlook without bashfulness or mumbling. Before you leave, get a clear agreement on what the next step will be and if you can call the employer at the end of the week to see if there are any lingering questions. After the interview, send a short, personal thank you note for the interviewer’s time and attention. 5. H represents Humility. This is a two-edged sword. Many of us are so humble that we find saying anything positive about ourselves almost excruciating. We start to mumble when expressing our qualities and achievements. Employers and interviewers are well aware of this. They know that an interview is an uncomfortable and unnatural interaction that makes both sides of the desk anxious and overly formal. Unless the position is in sales, which often demands a somewhat pushy self-presentation, you may make a more favorable impression if you are somewhat hesitant in rolling out your skills and abilities. The applicant who reports strength in all areas, knows everything, and answers every question with “I’ve done that before,” may be looked upon with some suspicion. The job seeker who keeps asking the office manager how much longer he will have to wait or taps his fingers impatiently on the desk, is not making points with the support staff who may have a significant effect on the eventual hiring decision. An employer may seek an applicant with initiative but he also fears a loose cannon who ignores direction and caution. While we admire the “take chances” attitude that propels a Donald Trump or Richard Branson to the self-made billionaire’s club, we don’t necessarily want that arrogant risk-taking at our company, especially when it is our company taking the risk! 6. E equates to Enthusiasm. This is what will wear you out more than anything else. It is one thing to be enthusiastic about our passions, our interests, even our jobs. It is something else to show enthusiasm over and over, rejection after rejection, and not crash and burn at some point. The sanest approach seems to be balance. While your search for work is top priority, make sure that you make time for rest and rejuvenation. Since enthusiasm is an absolute requirement in most job interviews, you would be better served to limit your actual job hunting personal and telephone contacts to 20 or 25 hours per week. Take time to relax: quiet time, exercise, watch a movie, and replenish your energy levels. You will be healthier, less stressed, and more effective when you do make contacts, than trying to spend 40 hours a week “pounding the pavement” and ending up presenting as tired, flat, and desperate when you reach the interview that could have been “the one.” 7. S reflects Self-Belief. Call it faith, call it self-confidence, call it a sense of trust, call it cock-eyed optimism, it is really, in psychological terms, self-efficacy. It does not directly concern what you think about yourself, positive or negative. It involves your belief in whether you are able to affect what happens to you. Do you believe that your actions and words can bring about the outcomes you seek? If I don’t believe that my efforts will have any effect on results, then the world is based on illogic, luck-of-the-draw, random chance. If you look back over your own life, you will be able to identify actions or decisions you took that had certain consequences, good or bad. Analyze and study your own history and you will start to clearly see that consequences follow every action. Move that into the present and future, and it will revitalize your belief in the eventual consequences of your actions now. If you follow the myriad job seeking strategies and techniques identified by experts, and repetitively supported by successful outcomes, you will reach your goal. It is that strong belief that you are “on the way” to success that will carry you through the long nights of worry, the wasted time of disappointing leads, and the pain of recurrent rejection. It will bring you back to the other six areas mentioned by allowing you to focus, reach out for support, communicate with humility and clarity, and maintain your job search campaign with unflaggingly enthusiastic persistence. How to Save Time and Achieve More by Creating High-Leverage Marketing Assets

By Adam Urbanski The single biggest, non-renewable asset you have is your time. There are only three things you can do with it: waste it, sell it, or invest it. As an entrepreneur or a service professional, what you do with your time acutely impacts how much money you can make. If this year you want to make clients come to you, earn a six figure income, become the expert in your chosen field, positively impact lives of many people, gain fame and earn respect of your peers you have to invest your time into creating marketing assets! Just like the wealthy invest in assets that continuously appreciate and generate more money like real estate, the savvy entrepreneurs invest in creating marketing assets that grow your business with no additional expense. What are those assets? Here is just a short list: Content Info products Referral partners Ezine subscribers list Customers list Incoming links to your website Testimonials Education So if you want to become the top dog in your industry, you’ve got to start doing what the big dogs do. To begin investing your time into creating high leverage marketing assets use this short checklist: DON’T design expensive logos. While establishing your uniqueness is important, people will not do business with you because you spent money on a cute graphic! DO survey your ideal clients. Learning and understanding their needs allow you to offer them solutions they want and that makes you incredibly attractive to them. DON’T place ads that feature little more but your logo, phone number and address. Stop kidding yourself thinking you are the next IBM or Coca-Cola and that merely mentioning your name will get people pounding on your door! DO create content that addresses the most pressing needs your prospects and clients are desperately trying to solve! Write articles, create special reports, publish an e-zine or e-book (or regular book), and record audio/video products. If you advertise advertise those products not your services. DO take time to learn and leverage free publicity. Research media contacts, take time to understand what type of information appeals to them, and become good at presenting your information in the format they like best. DON’T attend every networking meeting you can find. Your time is much too valuable to try to attract business in one-on-one fashion. Contrary to the popular belief networking isnt cheap! If you sum up the cost of your time, the price you pay to eat all that rubber chicken, and the energy to follow-up with people who will likely never do business with you its a very expensive (and ineffective) way to find only a handful of qualified prospects! DO develop informative presentations. Find large gatherings of your ideal prospects and become good at getting yourself invited as a speaker. DON’T fiddle around adjusting the shades of colors on your web site! DO look for online communities that already attract your ideal clients and find a way to make them link to you. Ask them to post your articles. Make your site content rich so they will want to list it as a resource. Or sell an info product and invite them to become an affiliate. DON’T beg for referrals! DO create ways your current clients can easily give you away (like an article or an audio CD) DO build relationships with referral partners. Create ways in which they can introduce you to hundreds or even thousands of prospects at once! DON’T try to figure everything out on your own thats a very expensive way to learn marketing and build your business. DO invest in knowledge products and access to experts. An hour or two with a knowledgeable advisor can save you th0usands of dollars in time and money wasted on wrong strategies and improperly implemented tactics. Providing people with easily accessible information about solutions will position you as a valuable resource and an expert. These tools will not only attract all the new business you want, but they will allow you to charge the money you deserve and create the lifestyle you desire. So stop wasting time eating all that rubber chicken and chasing people who will likely never do business with you nor refer a single client. Instead, start creating high-leverage marketing tools that over time will generate an avalanche of new business! (c) 2004 Adam M. Unique Finesse Spinning Reel For Finesse Fishing

By Philip Pixler First I should inform you all that I am a finesse type fisherman for the most part, and I always try to be prepared with the correct types of equipment for the species I am fishing for, or going after. My first choice is always a good reel, my preference is a spinning reel, like the Epixor EB bait feeder spinning reel. Now this is my first choice for finesse styles of fishing, like drop shot fishing with small worms or jig headed tubes, or in the spring site fishing the spawning beds for Large mouth bass, small mouth and even crappie, jigging in the rocks our brush piles when the fish are actively spawning. For this type of finesse fishing you really need a smooth quite running reel, with quick solid hook setting power. I enjoy using this okuma spinning reel for all these reasons. It has all the abilities I look for in a spinning reel, Like using live bait as well as my favorite lures. Lets take a look at the qualities features and capabilities of this reel. A first ever, a high performance finesse spinning reel with a bail feeding system. It is a unique combination of a tournament grade spinning reel and Okuma’s patented live line bait feeding system. Built on the foundation of the venerable okuma Epixor spinning reels, the Epixor EB is flawless. The Epixor EB features Okuma’s three piece spool construction. The machined aluminum spool utilizes a super tough, titanium coated stainless steel spool lip, as well as a waterproof drag seal. The EDS drag offers a 30% larger drag system for incredible stopping power. The Epixor uses Okuma’s patented live bait feeding system. One easy to reach lever disengages the spool letting line run freely. The tension of the free spool can be controlled with an easy to reach rear adjustment. Nine Stainless Steel sealed bearings, and a one way clutch bearing make these reels smooth. The Quick Set anti reverse system guarantees rock solid hook sets, and eliminates handle play. Features of this spinning reel include a Machine aluminum spool with a Tl coated stainless steel spool lip, nine SUS sealed ball bearings plus a 1 way roller bearing. Twelve Places to Buy a Mailing List

By Jeffrey Dobkin 2004 Jeffrey Dobkin There are two types of lists, determined by their origin: compiled lists and response lists. Compiled lists are a common source of names and records that have been gathered, collected, and entered into a database. The names may have been acquired through public records such as vehicle owner registrations or high school teachers. Directories, such as a directory of plant maintenance engineers, are usually compiled lists. Many lists are compiled from categories in phone books across the U.S. Examples would be all the photography shops or all the luggage dealers in the United States. Or all the plumbing supply dealers. Keep in mind that compiled information - like fish - gets old rather quickly and doesnt age particularly well. Response lists are data from people who have responded to an ad or who have purchased from a catalog, direct mail package, TV ad,or other offer. With any mailing you are considering, first ask precisely what groups or what characteristics make up the perfect audience. Then try to find a list that matches these definable characteristics closely. Good delivery percentages of your mailing piece to a specific audience can usually be found in lists of magazine subscribers. These lists are usually very targeted to their audience, and good because most publishers are extremely prompt with their name and address corrections. Call a magazine publisher and ask if their subscriber list is for sale, then ask for the name of their list broker. There are over 10,000 magazines published so you can probably get a magazine subscription list that goes straight to your perfectly targeted buyers. If youre not sure what magazines would be best, there are some easy-to-use periodical directories found in most reference libraries. The best directories of magazines are Burrelles Directory of Magazines (800-USMEDIA), Bacons (800-621-0561), SRDS (800-851- SRDS), and Oxbridge Communications Standard Periodical Directory (800-955-0231). If you cant find the exact targeted magazine filled with the eager-to-buy-your-product subscribers you are looking for in any of these directories, the publication doesnt exist. You can find any industry - and all the magazines that are sent to that industry - in under 10 minutes in these useful directories. Catalog houses earn a good portion of their revenue from the sale of their lists. Call the catalog and ask for their business office, then ask who handles their list sales. Almost all catalog houses sell their lists. Catalog houses can be found in the Catalog of Catalogs from Woodbine House Publications (www.woodbinehouse.com; 800-843-7323; $28.95 PPD), and The Directory of Mail Order Catalogs from Grey House Publishing (www.greyhouse.com; 800-562-2139; $250). Trade associations are usually an excellent source of mailing lists. Better associations always list the industrys major players. Local associations like the Chamber of Commerce in your area are usually good for local business names. You can select by business size, number of employees, SIC code (the governments industry classification of each business), or any of a multitude of other selection parameters. Two great sources for finding associations are reference books from Columbia Books, Inc. (888-265-0600; www.columbiabooks.com) publishers of the State and Regional Associations Directory ($79) and The National Trade and Professional Associations of the United States ($99). Mailing lists of the associations are $100/M and are available on labels or disk. Association lists and data are also available in the Encyclopedia of Associations by The Gale Group (800-877-GALE) on disk, CD, and on- line through Lexis-Nexis. This hardbound, three-volume set ($505) is the motherload of associations - showing detailed information on more than 23,000 local, state, national, and international associations. Trade show lists are also great marketing tools - lists of both attendees and of exhibitors. Check out two great websites: www.tscentral.com and www.tradeshowweek.com for trade show information. The Tradeshow Week Data Book (213-965-5300; $355) is a great tool published by the editors of Tradeshow Week Magazine. Another great trade show directory is the TradeShows and Exhibits Schedule from Bill Communications (800-266-4712, 856-619-5800) - organized by industry, by location, by date, and in alphabetical order for fast look-ups. Two excellent resources for investigating lists at the library are the SRDS Direct Marketing List Source (800-851-SRDS) and the Oxbridge Communications National Directory of Mailing Lists (800-955- 0231). We use both in our own office - theyre thorough and exceptionally easy to use. These reference tools are each about the size of the Manhattan phone book and contain nothing but list data: who owns what list, number of records in each, source of names and, list pricing. Both tools are available in major libraries. List brokers are found in the phone book in every major city. They can be heaven, supplying incredible information, or hell, looking for that fast buck. Make sure you ask tons of questions before handing over any money. While you pay the broker, he actually works for the list owner - so take that into consideration when you ask questions and negotiate price. A plethora of list managers of mailing lists can be found in the direct mail trade magazines such as Catalog Age & Direct Magazines: 203/ 358-9900, Target Marketing: 215/238-5300, Direct Marketing: 516/746- 6700, and DM News: 212/741-2095. Some list brokers sell through their own catalog of mailing lists. These handy reference tools will give you an idea of just whats out there - what kind of lists are available and counts of how many records exist in the thousands of different list categories. Want to know how many dentists there are? Its a piece of cake: 190,168 are members of the ADA. Want to know if there is a list of picky ale drinkers? Find the list of Ale in the Mail-Continuity Members: 70,973 of them. Selling an accounting product? Try the list of Accounting Institute Seminar Attendees - all 78,634 of them. Looking for college professors? Did you want the 43,347 who teach English, or the 18,184 who teach history, or the 8,477 in marketing, or the 9,194 philosophy teachers, or the If you need additional information - like how many doctors who specialize in allergies and are the head of their practice with four or more employees can be found in Pennsylvania - call any of these catalog houses and ask them to run a count. Youll be able to get that information in about ten minutes. Hugo Dunhill: 800/223-6454, American Business Lists: 800/555-5335, Best Mailing Lists: 800/692- 2378, CompilersPlus: 800/431-2914, and Edith Roman: 800/223-2194 to name just a few. More phone numbers can be found in my books Uncommon Marketing Techniques and How To Market A Product For Under $500! Several companies now offer lists of every business or every person in the U.S. on CD-ROM. These products allow you to create your own list criteria and generate your own precisely targeted mailing lists. Some of the better programs make it easy and fast to use their CD-ROM products. Mailing list CDs are available from InfoUSA: 800/321-0869, and Global Business International: 407/568-5037 to name but two. One of the best resources for lists is the Internet. Theres no getting around it now, the Internet is here to stay you might as well get on and get used to it. Its a great - probably the best - research tool available for almost anything, if you can filter out the crap from the good stuff. But isnt that the way with all research tools: you gotta figure out which is the good stuff that you can use, and which is the bad stuff that youve just spent the last two hours looking over and have now figured out is pretty worthless. Youd be surprised how many of your competitors will sell your their customers names. If not competitors, how about asking other businesses who serve your market if you can purchase their mailing lists. Of course, the best list of all - bar none - is your own house list of current and past customers. These are the folks that know you and trust you; theyve experienced that great customer service you offer and are now willing to buy something else from you if you would only let them know its available. Spend some extra time in this most important area - list research: tighten your list criteria, do your homework, spend time in research, and find the best lists you can possibly find. Then test several. Its worth the extra time and money to target your audience with precision and increase the chance youll come up a winner at the post office. There is no single more important factor in creating a greater response to a mailing than mailing to the best possible list. Whatever you do, dont settle for a mediocre list unless you want mediocre results. Jeffrey Dobkin, author of the incredible 400-page marketing manual How To Market a Product for Under $500. If You Love Me …

By Felton Thompkins How many times have you heard this verse of Scripture quoted to you: If you love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15, and instead of it being an inspiration, it not only made you cringe, but it also made you feel like you were condemned of God, and condemned by the person that so graciously quoted it to you? Well, fret not! We have all been there, and we will probably end up there again at some point, if we are not exposed to the truth. What I would like to address in this article is our ability, or lack of ability, to experience the “true” love of God. This has been a stumbling block for men since the beginning of the ages. I believe it even started with Adam in the Garden. Furthermore, let me express to you that I don’t consider myself to have arrived, nor do I count myself to have a monopoly on the subject of the “love of God. My sincere desire is that we all can grow in the grace and love of our Heavenly Father. In February, 2006 I was watching, the Christian television channel. It was the week of the Super Bowl, and they where interviewing a few of the players who would be playing in the game that night. Although I can’t remember which player said this or what team he was from, I do remember that the guy said this was one of his favorite verses. If you love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15 Wow! For the first time ever, I heard it right. The Lord communicated to me , that this verse was not saying , that if I keep His commandments, then He will love me. For so many years I had read and heard that verse from a “do-to-be” loved perspective. Jesus said, If you love me, keep my commandments. Can you sense the passionate plea of our Lord as One talking to His children, knowing that if we would “learn” to take heed of His principles and disciplines from a position of love, that then, and only then, can we experience the extraordinary and abundant way of life and living! For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments: and His commandments are not grievous. (weighty, burdensome) John 5:3 First and foremost, we must understand that it is “only” the love and grace of God that allow us to keep His commandments, meaning it’s the unconditional love of God, flowing from God to the believer. Cause me to hear thy loving kindness… Psa.143:8 The Psalmist expresses his desire to know the love of God, experientially and passionately, not just intellectually, and theologically. Unfortunately, the latter two are the only way most of us have experienced and will ever experience anything of God. We must learn how, and continue to know and receive the love of God, not just from a theological or an intellectual position, but rather from a position of knowing His passion for the believer, and learning to share in that passion in a genuine love relationship with our Lord and Saviour. ———————————————————— It’s funny how at the time of our accepting the Lord Jesus as Saviour we experience, and accept, the unconditional love of God. Yet, somewhere along the way we have this tendency to forget that it is His gift to all who will believe. Well, until you hear from me again, let us all remember that it is by grace that we are saved, through faith and that not of ourselves, it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any of us should boast. 7 Coaching Predictions and What To Do About Them

By Andrea Lee To prepare for our segments, Milana asked us to reveal in no-holds barred fashion, a mindstream of the 3 most important trends, opportunities and landmines we could foresee for professional coaches in 2007, including how each is likely to impact a coach’s business (that’s you!), and what I’m doing about the predictions myself. Here are the promised notes from the predictions I made, for those who missed the call or prefer reading over listening… Coaching Prediction #1: Expect to see lots more coaching jobs. By that I dont mean jobs that involve coaching skills, but jobs where coaching is the core deliverable. This will happen at three levels: (1) the Executive level - this is already happening and there will be many more of these. (2) the non-Executive level - these coaching jobs are becoming part of the woodwork in fitness and wellness industries, in the academic world, etc. (3) AND coaches who are reaching a certain degree of success are now hiring associate coaches themselves, creating a demand for coaches with the skill set and experience set who don’t want to build businesses. How to prepare for this trend? - Collect testimonials of the hard-core type - Use before and after progress worksheets - Be prepared to provide examples of your coaching abilities in a resume Tip: As a natural benefit to your 1-1 or group coaching clients, you can already be offering to record their sessions, confidentially for their use, of course. It’s a great value add and costs you little if you use an easy recording service like this. When the time comes you then also have the option of approaching them for permission to use audio clips you record for the purpose of your coaching portfolio. This bolsters your application immeasurably as you are helping prospective employers understand how to recognize great coaching. It’s early yet in the days of coaching jobs, and people aren’t altogether clear how to hire the best coaches. This is great news: you can help them hire you. What I personally hope to do in light of the increasing number of coaching jobs is help build connections between those who want the jobs and those who are in a position to hire. I’ve already spent several years developing my business as a place that helps with business management and infrastructure so as to facilitate coaches hiring other coaches. Love that. Coaching Prediction #2: Watch for a great deal more coaching in the mainstream media. There will continue to be coaching in reality television, as a part of the bigger premise of the show. But youll see in 2007 a couple of shows where coaching is the focus. Many of us have hoped that this would happen in a way that can showcase the real power of coaching well, isn’t it awesome that its now coming? As I explain on the audio clip from the Coaching Predictions call - I cheat a little with the word ‘predictions’ here because some of these things I know to be a forgone conclusion. Plus, I think you’ll agree that we create our own future so if I have anything to do with the predictions, let’s just say I like to think they’ll be a little more than predictions when the year is through. ;-) So, how to prepare for this one? It may sound silly, but stay flexible. Be prepared to nimbly take advantage of this trend in your marketing collateral. Now may not be the time to print 1000 business cards. Hedge your bets and be ready to take advantage of trends, language and ideas as they sweep through. What I hope to do is support the coaches who are even now preparing for big launches in radio, video games and yes, TV, as well as help coaches who want to make the most of the halo effect of all this. Coaching Prediction #3: I also predict an increase in mainstream criticism of coaching and the self help industry as a whole. Some of you who are following along know this has begun already in the form of recently-published books painting self-help as a whole with a very dark shade of black. And of course, there is the backlash to the very successful movie ‘The Secret.’ So how can you prepare for this? Isn’t it hard enough to market your coaching business? More details to this worthy question in another post, but in general terms, my best suggestion is that each of us embrace the criticism as an opportunity. Dont run from the criticism, take it as a vitamin and let it strengthen you. Because here’s the thing, when I take a close look at some of what’s being said - there is real truth to it. And hearing that truth at a deep level can only make us better at what we do, and how we talk about it. And although Milana only asked us for three, here are four more quickie predictions I slipped in. Note: Because I had to leave the call early, I wasn’t able to cover each in detail on the record so the notes will be where you get the most detail. Coaching Prediction #4: We will see a handful or so coaches emerging as leaders in definitive (and perhaps unexpected) new niche markets. Again, I say this more from a factual standpoint than a crystal-ball or tea-leaf standpoint. There may be more than a handful but I can stand by at least a handful at this moment. Hint: This means more coaches hiring coaches as the new niche market embraces coaching results and demand increases. Coaching Prediction #5: There will be a steady increase in the number of mergers and acquisitions taking place. That is, the buying and selling of successful coaching businesses by people in and outside the industry. Whether it’s because veteran coaches are moving out of the market going onto other things, selling, thinking about their legacy as a coach or just simply planning exit strategies…or…. just the fact that the coaching landscape is coalescing and consolidating …this is also already happening. Unfortunately, this type of meta-activity also means it becomes much more important to have your grown-up business ‘ducks in a row’. As business goals of varying coaching organizations overlap and sometimes even clash, there will be lawsuits and other ‘vigorous’ negotiations. Yes even among coaches. How can you prepare? Think bigger about how to reach your goals. If one of your goals is to build a list of 10,000, how can you leapfrog the organic process of doing that? Ask, whos getting out of the biz? Whos going on sabbatical? How can you step in, acquire or buy a business asset? Also, be prepared to invest in infrastructure accountants, lawyers, business managers etc. As for myself, there are a couple of businesses Im looking at acquiring and/or merging with now and thats something I haven’t done before in the coaching industry, for myself, only for clients. So this will be an exciting time of growth - one that I aim to navigate without adding too more hours in front of the computer. Fun. Coaching Prediction #6: We will see increased numbers of companion coaching programs where coaches create programs based on existing best selling material. For example Coach Carol Ross’ work based on Dan Pink’s book ‘A Whole New Mind’ called “Leading with a Whole New Mind.” If you’re curious about this, I’ve posted my online interview with Carol in a separate post here. Coaching Prediction #7: We will see significant bodies of proof come to light that coaches are earning great livings. Ah, perhaps my favorite prediction. By this I mean Real Proof - no more ‘Survey says we all stink.’ (Can I just say I can’t wait???) As an adjuct to this, as more coaches begin earning well, the pendulum will begin swinging back towards the ‘meaning’ side of the Money–Meaning spectrum. We’ll start hearing more conversation about the social value of our businesses. How can we best give back? How do we manage our legacies or build charitable organizations that reflect our values? How can we infuse our business successes with greater meaning? We’ll see more innovative creations along the social venture line, for example the book ‘The BIG MOO’ by Seth Godin where 100% of author royalties went to charity. —-end predictions—- Needless to say, it’s truly the most wonderful of times, isn’t it? Great evolutionary tension, as it were. Andrea Lee is the author of Multiple Streams of Coaching Income, Money Meaning and Beyond and Pink Spoon Marketing (with Tina Forsyth). Nokia N93i- Don’t Just Say Cheese…Say Action!

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Keith_Rickwood]Keith Rickwood With emerging technologies, the mobile phone market today have become more like a fantasy world where one gizmo after another is launched to overcast other mobile phones by showcasing their own skills and specialties. The Nokia N series is one such family of 3G multimedia devices that has captivated everyone with their unique attributes from imaging to music capabilities. The Nokia N93i is a member of this reputed family and is an upgraded version of their earlier offering the Nokia N93. Infact, the ‘i’ stands for ‘improved’. This exotic mobile phone with all the works of a real digital camcorder is not only good at still imaging, but also a master at shooting DVD like videos. The Nokia N93i is a smartphone based on S60 platform (third edition) and works on Symbian Operating system. The handset features a unique 16 million coloured, twist and rotating TFT screen. This allows you to use it as a viewfinder while the handset is in camera mode just like any camcorder. A secondary OLED screen displays information when the Nokia N93i is in closed position. Camera module of the Nokia N93i is 3.2 megapixel with lens made by highly reputed Carl Zeiss. Clarity and high resolution are only the basic factors for a good picture. To make them really great, a whole bunch of other features like integrated flash, optical and digital zoom, autofocus are included in the Nokia N93i. However it is not the still photography but the video recording abilities of the Nokia N93i that set this smartphone apart from the clutter. The handset records truly high definition footage at 30 frames per second in MPEG4 formats. Digital camcorder’s territory has been seriously breached. There is much more to the Nokia N93i than just imaging. The feature list includes 3G video calling, WiFi, Bluetooth, global GSM mobile connectivity, radio, media player and a decent 50 Mb of internal memory with hot swappable memory card slot.
